CBCT
We proudly offer Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanning in situations when performing a traditional dental X-ray is not sufficient. This scanner provides us with a 3D image of your teeth and surrounding bone structures, soft tissues and nerve pathways to aid us in more precise treatment planning. The procedure involves a cone-shaped X-ray beam that rotates around the patient’s head to create 150-200 high-resolution 2D images that are digitally assembled into a comprehensive 3D image.
Today, we use CBCT scanning in advance of a wide variety of procedures:
- Advance planning for orthodontics, dental implants and impacted teeth
- Diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
- Locating the origin of unresolved pain
- Reconstructive surgery Evaluating the formations of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity
